Application portals reject photos for the wrong size, the wrong file size or a busy background. This page puts your photo on white, crops it to the form's pixel size and saves a JPEG inside the KB window the notice gives.
Form presets with their sources
Pick a preset in the Compose stage and the editor sets the canvas, places your head and shoulders, puts pure white behind you and sets the file-size window. Each preset shows its numbers, the notice they came from and the date they were checked.
- Bank form: 200 × 230 pixels preferred, 20–50 KB, light or preferably white background, color JPG, as in IBPS-style recruitment notices.
- Square format: 350 × 350 to 1000 × 1000 pixels, 20–300 KB, preferably white, as in state recruitment annexures that follow the UPSC format. Verify against the current UPSC notice.
How the KB window works
Turning a photo into a file between 20 and 50 KB is a search: the editor tries JPEG quality settings, at most eight times, and keeps the highest quality that fits under the maximum. The pixel size of a form photo is part of the rule, so it is never shrunk to make the file smaller. If even the lowest quality cannot reach the minimum, or the maximum, the receipt says so instead of saving a file that would be rejected.
The receipt shows the final size, for example 32 KB inside 20–50 KB.
Live capture and other rules
Some recruitment bodies now capture the photo live in their own portal or app and reject uploaded photos; SSC CGL 2026 does. If yours does, this page cannot help with the photo, but the signature page can prepare the signature they still ask you to upload.
Some offices do not accept digitally altered photos. This page never smooths, slims or relights a face: it changes only the background, the crop and the file. Where possible, take the photo against a plain light wall in even light. None of the presets is an approval. The body that runs your exam decides; check its current notice.
Your photo stays here
The photo is read into this tab and the cut-out runs on your device with the person model, downloaded once. Nothing about your photo, your name or your application is sent anywhere.
Step by step
- Read your notice. Note the pixel size, KB range and background it asks for.
- Open your photo. A clear, front-facing photo in even light.
- Choose the preset. Pick the matching form preset in Compose.
- Check the framing. Use the head guides to center your face.
- Download the JPEG. The receipt confirms the KB window.
Questions people ask
My form needs live capture. Can I use this?
Not for the photo. If the portal captures it live, it will not accept an uploaded one. You can still prepare the signature on the signature page.
How does the KB target work?
JPEG quality is searched, at most eight tries, until the file fits the window. The pixel size stays as the preset sets it, and the receipt reports the final size or why it could not fit.
Which preset is my exam?
Use the one whose pixel size and KB range match your notice. If none does, set the canvas size in Compose and the KB range in Export yourself.
Will this guarantee my photo is accepted?
No. Only the body that runs your exam can accept a photo. The page helps you meet the size, file size and background it states.
Does it edit my face?
No. It changes only the background, the crop and the file size.
