Drop a logo and its background is gone before you blink: the corners are sampled, the box behind the mark is removed, and color inside the letters stays exactly as you drew it.
Made for flat artwork
A logo is usually one or two flat colors on a plain box, which a color key handles better than any model. This page samples the four corners of your file, removes that color where it touches the border and keeps everything else. Anti-aliased edges are kept as partial transparency and un-blended from the old background, so the rim of each letter stays smooth instead of being cut to a jagged stair-step.
For a two-tone background, a gradient box or a file with a shadowed corner, click Pick a background color and add more samples. Tolerance and edge softness control how far the removal reaches and how soft its boundary is.
Trim, pad and size
- Trim transparent space, in the Compose stage, shrinks the canvas to the mark with the padding you choose.
- Icon sizes ZIP, in the Export stage, saves the logo at full size plus 512, 256, 128, 64 and 32 pixel transparent squares in one download, centered without stretching.
- Outline adds a white or colored ring around the mark for use on busy backgrounds.
Check before you use it
Look at the result On black and On white. A logo cut from a white box can carry a faint pale rim that only shows on dark backgrounds; Remove fringe or a slightly higher tolerance takes it out. If part of the mark matches the background color and disappears, lower the tolerance or keep Connected only switched on.
Raster in, raster out
This page works on pixels. It does not trace your logo into vector paths, and the PNG it saves is only as sharp as the file you opened. For print or very large signage, start from the largest version of the logo you have. If you need an SVG, the original design file is the right source, not a traced copy.
Step by step
- Open the logo. PNG, JPG, WebP or a screenshot all work.
- Check the corners. The box behind the mark is removed automatically.
- Add samples if needed. Click more background spots for two-tone boxes.
- Trim. Shrink the canvas to the mark with some padding.
- Save. Transparent PNG, or the icon sizes ZIP.
Questions people ask
Will the holes inside letters stay transparent too?
By default the inside of letters is kept as it is in your file, because only background connected to the border is removed. If the holes show the old box color, turn off Connected only to remove that color everywhere.
Can I get an SVG?
No. This is a pixel editor; it saves PNG, WebP or JPEG. A vector logo should come from the original design file.
What sizes are in the icon ZIP?
The full-size transparent PNG plus 512, 256, 128, 64 and 32 pixel squares, each centered with transparent padding rather than stretched.
My logo has a soft shadow. Will it survive?
A shadow that is close to the background color may be removed. Lower the tolerance, or restore it with the Restore or Lasso restore tool.
Is a model downloaded?
No. Logo removal is a color key that runs instantly and offline.
